About Us: How We Review Online Casinos

Every casino review site tells you it is independent. Few of them show you what that word costs. This page explains who runs Casino Hub Au, how we rate operators, and how the site makes money — so you can judge whether our conclusions are worth anything.
Who we are
Casino Hub Au is an Australian editorial project covering online casinos for readers in Australia. The team consists of writers and researchers with years of experience covering the Australian gambling market: the licensing landscape, the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, state-based regulators, and the offshore operators that target Australian players despite not being authorised to do so.
We do not run casinos, we do not take bets, and we are not owned by a gambling company. Our only product is information.
How we evaluate operators
Every operator on this site is assessed against a fixed set of criteria, applied the same way regardless of commercial relationships. Here is what we look at:
- Licensing and legal status. We check what licence an operator actually holds, and from whom. A licence from the Malta Gaming Authority, Curacao eGaming or the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission does not authorise an operator to serve Australian customers — only Australian state and territory regulators can do that. We say so plainly in every review where it applies. We never imply that any operator is approved by ACMA, because ACMA does not license or approve online casinos.
- Withdrawal terms. How long payouts take, what documents are required, and what the fine print allows the operator to refuse. This is where most disputes start.
- Game fairness and RTP. What software providers the casino uses, whether games are independently audited, and what the published return-to-player figures look like.
- Customer support. Tested directly, not read off the website.
- Complaints history. We look at patterns of unresolved player complaints, not isolated incidents.
- Responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits, self-exclusion options and links to support services. An operator that makes these hard to find loses points with us.
No operator can pay for a higher rating, a better position in a comparison, or the removal of criticism.
How we make money
Casino Hub Au earns commission through affiliate links. When you click through to an operator from this site and play there, we may receive a payment from that operator.
Here is what that does and does not buy. It does not buy a favourable review, an edited criticism, or a ranking position. Our commercial agreements are structured so that editorial judgements are made before and independently of any commercial consideration. Operators do not see reviews before publication, cannot request changes, and do not receive refunds for bad coverage.
If that arrangement does not suit you, use the reviews without our links. The information works either way.
How we update our content
Gambling operators change terms, bonuses and withdrawal policies constantly — a review written once is wrong within months. We re-review every listed operator on a regular cycle, and immediately when licence status changes, terms shift materially, or a pattern of player complaints emerges. Pages carry an "Updated:" date so you can see how fresh the information is. If we get something wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it.
A note on gambling
Gambling carries a real risk of harm, and we treat that as fact rather than footnote. Never gamble money you cannot afford to lose, and do not treat gambling as a source of income — it is not one.
If gambling has stopped being fun, help is available. BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register, lets you exclude yourself from all licensed Australian wagering operators in one step. Free confidential support is also available 24/7 at 1800 858 858.
Our job is to give you accurate information, including the parts operators would rather you did not read. The rest is your call.
